Hinako Omori
Hinako Omori opens the last night, and the booking is a better fit for this festival than it looks on paper. Born in Yokohama and in London since she was three, she is a composer and producer who spent years as a session player — James Bay, Ed O'Brien, Kae Tempest, KT Tunstall — before stepping out on her own. The record that made her name began as a lockdown set built around shinrin-yoku, forest bathing: she recorded the woodland by her studio and wove those field recordings into binaural synth work, and it grew into A journey… in 2022, with Stillness, Softness… following in 2023. Analogue synthesisers, field recordings and a lot of patience — an unusually good match for the hour before Bonobo, and worth being in the room early for.
